Hendra is a suburb that lies roughly 6 kilometres north-east of Brisbane’s central business district. Hendra has boundaries in all four directions: Schultz Canal or Airport Link East West Arterial Road to the north, the north/south Southern Cross Way on the eastern boundary; Zillman Rd as the western border and the Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourses at the southern end. Nudgee Rd, a relatively busy Road at times, runs North – South towards the Eastern side of the suburb. The homes on the Eastern side of Nudgee Rd traditionally comprised of many horse stables thanks to the nearby Racecourses. In recent years however, this has become less so with the large homes taking over the streets.
The railway line comes from Clayfield (west) briefly into Hendra before exiting again through Ascot around the southern side of the racecourses towards Pinkenba.
